The Microchip Technology model M2GL025-VFG400 is a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) based on their innovative SmartFusion2 SoC. The SmartFusion2 FPGA architecture is characterized by features that combine the ability of a microcontroller with the performance of an FPGA. The FPGAs not only combine digital signal processing functions with PLD (Programmable logic device)-like features but also implement the FPGA fabric with a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 as a processing core.
